It born among the ancient Indian ashram and in the Tibetan monasteries the Yoga, as a daily practise, was used to keep the body and the mind in harmonious balance.
It was the Indian master Kusum Modak, disciple of the famous yoga master B.K.S. Iyergar, to create this type of massage unifing the passive techniques of her master to the traditional Indian ayurveda massage, enriching it with the ancient practise of the usage of the feet as well as the hands coming from Kerala ( South India ).
The treatment involves:
- All over the body by the manual massage
- On the profound musculature of the back and the legs by the feet massage
- On the joints and ligament with specific exercises and charley horse
To practise the massage it is used an organic oil ( preferable olive or sesame oil cold squeezed ) with Velchana (root’s dust of dry calamo). This mixture has an antiseptic action, propels the bloodstream, detoxes and purifies the skin. Through a growing friction the massage reaches the deepest levels of the tissues and revitalizes the prana.
The complete treatment lasts about an hour and the massage involves either the posterior and the anterior side of the body, it requires in some phases of the session the active participation of the patient ( passive yoga and charley horses), ending with a fantastic head and face massage that introduces a deep relax.

- With pad of hot stones: to enrich the permeability of the oil in the stress points and to allow a better and pleasant relax.
Shirodhara
pouring of the hot oil on the forehead with a constant and regular flux with a pleasant oscillatory slow movement from a temple to another.
It is applied after the Abbhyanga massage, causing a deep relax that contributes to quiet and to clean the mind.
